Youth Programme Launch

BFF has always maintained the importance of providing children with the opportunity to be the best they can be, from the moment they step into their first classroom to the exciting yet slightly daunting move into secondary school. And for the past five years we have been working towards the start of our first secondary school programme so we are incredibly pleased to announce that we are finally there. From September 2023 we will roll out our new Youth Programme which due to the generosity of the Ed De Nunzio Fund, who have very generously donated £10,000 to get the programme up and running, will start.

We have also been busy recruiting the role of Youth Programme Manager and are incredibly pleased to announce the appointment of our very first Youth Programme Manager, Alysha Smith to the BFF team. Alysha will work closely with our CEO Michelle Foulks and our first secondary school settings to implement the structure of the programme. Alysha has kindly provided a personal ‘hello’ for us which we know you’ll appreciate and enjoy. Very busy times ahead!

Hello! My name is Alysha and I’m super excited to be joining the BFF team! I’m originally from Canada but fell in love with the UK after completing my Master’s Degree at the University of York. I’ve now lived and worked in York for over 5 years doing a variety of community based activities and youth provision management. I am an artsy, nerdy, history loving musician with a passion for bringing people together and look forward to working with the BFF community of families and young people in my role as Youth Programme Manager.
