BFF wins Dragons’ Den support

Big Futures Foundation has been awarded £5,000 in a Yorkshire based Dragon’s Den.  Six Yorkshire Dragons, made up of business leaders and regional investors, hosted by the Sheriffs of North and East Yorkshire, awarded the grant after hearing an impassioned plea for support from BFF Founder and Chair of Trustees, Claire Douglas.

A delighted Claire Douglas commented:

“We are thrilled to have been successful and extend a huge thank you to the Dragons, to the High Sheriffs and the Two Ridings Community Foundation. The funds will enable us to expand our services in York and help kids build great lives. BFF aims to ensure that children experiencing disadvantage have the chance to reach their full potential in school and in life. The Dragons’ contribution is a huge boost on our journey to realising those ambitions on a wider scale.”

Each of the Dragons had donated to support six charities pitching at the Dragons’ Den event and had their contributions match funded by the Two Ridings Community Foundation.  Jan Garrill, Chief Executive of Two Ridings Community Foundation summed up the event:

“Dragons’ Den showcases just a fraction of the groups in the region and gives donors and investors a real insight into the difference those organisations make to local people. We love being able to support groups further, because they are the people on the ground that really transform communities.”
